Let's face it, if you're beyond 24 and not in anyone's league, making money playing fantasy sports is as real as it gets. Now, it's easier than ever. There are fantasy leagues all over the internet, but two in particular have come into the forefront of late. Many people heard that a DraftKings employee recently won $350K on FanDuel. This news has been getting a lot of buzz especially since there have been conversations about insider information contributing to the outcome. Investigations have not turned up any evidence of this, but are ongoing. This got me thinking, which site is "better"? Which site offers the most pleasurable playing experience? The Cave has recently began an experiment to determine which one is the most user-friendly, offers the best chance to win, and is the overall most enjoyable. Results will be made available once conclusive. Until then, what do you think?? Let us know which, if any of these sites you use and what kind of luck you've had!

This week was so exciting in the world of sports we couldn't just give you one story. Here are the the ups, down, & wish they never were's of sports... The GoodIt's October so you know what that means, post season baseball baby!!! And for the first time since 2012, the Bronx Bombers are definitely participating. The Yankees clinched the Wild Card with their 10,000th win in a 4-1 victory over the Boston Red Sox. This is an especially significant feat for Yankee DH Alex Rodriguez who is coming off of a season suspension for PEDs. A-Rod leads the Yanks with 33 homeruns followed by Mark Teixeira (on 15-day DL) and former Brave Brian McCann. The BadBad is about the only way to describe the Atlanta Braves' season. They have had a tough year plagued by injury and just bad luck. With the season over and no chance of even making .500, the playoffs are nowhere in the cards. There have been very few ups to celebrate, but the team is looking forward to righting the ship for nest season. If they plan on competing, major moves will need to be made to bring in talent to fill the numerous holes in the lineup and some cash must be spent. Hopefully the front office sees this and will do what is needed. the 60-something wins they tallied this season will never cut it. The UglyThe SMU Mustangs were in the news again this week and it was an all too familiar story. The NCAA has banned the 'Stangs from the postseason for next season and Head Coach Larry Brown has been handed a 9 game suspension. This stems from a report conducted by the NCAA blaming Brown for knowing about and neglecting to act on multiple infractions which include academic fraud and not being forthcoming about them. It's definitely not a good look for the program and seems a bit unfair to the players, especially the ones that had no knowledge of it. If rules were broken, of course punishment is needed, but punish the right people, not everyone.
MMA fighter Nick Diaz was suspended recently for testing positive for marijuana after a fight. The entire testing procedure was flawed in the first place and seemed to be targeting Diaz. He was tested three times and only the test that had his name on it & went to a non certified lab came back positive. Something just doesn't sound right to me. But even worse is the suspension that was handed down. Five years. For weed?! Five whole years for weed??? You can't be serious. I can see that long for PEDs, but weed is light. No way that makes sense. It's against the rules, I get it, but the punishment must got the crime. It just doesn't add up to me. Let us know how you feel. Am I tripping? What punishment would you have handed down, if any... Shit just got real! This past Saturday former #2 Alabama hosted #15 Ole Miss for what was supposed to be a payback game for the 23-17 defeat the suffered last season. Well the Rebels had something else in mind. Don't get me wrong, it was a good game, but Ole Miss came ready to ball! They hadn't won a game in Bryant-Denny since 1988 and refused to leave without snapping that drought. The decision to start Cooper Bateman over Jake Coker will forever be questioned, but who is going to doubt Nick Saban? The fact of the matter is that the Ole Miss defense stepped up when they needed to. Big time! Not only did they have two huge stops late, but Ole Miss was able to steal points off of five Bama turnovers. They say defense wins championships. If the Rebels keep this up & iron out a few wrinkles, they'll definitely need figure out their ring sizes. Until then, the SEC West is up for grabs.
One of the most criticized and hated teams in all of sports has done it again! Although the Cowboys are "America's Team", we all know that there were thousands of people who would've loved to see them take the L yesterday! Tony Romo is right behind Lebron on the most criticized list, due to some big L's taken in their career. But love him or hate him, he can throw that damn football! The Cowboys drove down the field for a game winner with a little over a minute left. Not to mention they did it Dez Bryant-less! This is Tony Romo's 29th game-winning drive. 29th!!! That's a top 20 statistic in case you didn't know. But anywho, the NFL is back, and I'm loving it!
To say that the first weekend of college football was exciting would be an extreme understatement! We saw blowouts, upsets, and redemption all in the span of a few days. Now the weekend has ended... Or has it? Today is Labor Day and aside from not having to got to work (some of us at least), we get one more football game! The defending and first ever college football playoff champions have a chance to avenge their one and only loss of last season. This year, the Buckeyes go into Blacksburg to face the Virginia Tech team that beat them 35-21. Aside from being the only game on TV, this game is definitely a must watch. For starters, who will be the signal caller for the Bukeyes? We saw Cardale Jones terrorize college defenses the last part of their championship season, but let's not forget that J. T. Barrett is no slouch himself. Which one will start the game under center? With the absence of Bosa for Ohio State, you would think that Virginia Tech would be able to hold the pocket long enough to give QB Michael Brewer enough time to work. Last season the O-Line wasn't all that great at protecting the quarterback, but with the Buckeyes having questions themselves, it should be pretty evenly matched. We could go on and on with analysis and stats and predictions, but at the end of the day, only what's done on the field matters. Watch the game tonight at 9pm EST on ESPN to see who handles business on the gridiron. If you think you know how this will go, let us know. I'm predicting the Buckeyes take care of business. The Hokies owe them and they're coming to collect! Gentlemen... The moment we have been waiting for is almost upon us. It has been over 200 days since the college football season ended and I for one missed it dearly. last season we saw the first installment of the newly adopted college football playoff system. Although it wasn't perfect, I was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out. There was great competition throughout and a "win-or-go-home" attitude that could be felt right through the television screen. I can hardly wait to see what this season has in store! This is the last weekend that we will be without college football so it's time to make sure everything is in order for the season. It's time to cut those lawns, get rid of anything taking up needed space in the fridge and freezer, and put together a list of things needed for the big day. We must prepare for the season as if our lives depended on it! You know what all you need to get done. Now go forth and do it the way only men can, THE RIGHT WAY! Now some people have a pretty good idea of what games they want to watch, but others might not be as set on the teams they need to keep an eye on. Of course you'll watch your favorite team take the field, but what about your rival? You may want to see the competition you will be facing down the line, later in the season. Fear not, the Cave majored in Clutch. Here is the TV schedule of all D-1 games for the first week of the 2015 NCAA College Football season, brought to you via Fox Sports. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015Friday, Sept. 4, 2015Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015ATTENTION MEN! There are only two Saturdays remaining until college football is upon us once again! Now is the time to inspect your caves and prepare for the season. Print off your schedules if you haven't already and start planning your gatherings. Make sure that you have enough room to store grillables and drinkables. Clean out all your coolers and check the dates on foods in the fridge. While you're at it, it wouldn't be a bad idea to give that grill a once over. Take the time to locate all your necessary utensils and ensure that they will be readily available when the season starts. Go ahead and look up your local listings for all games that you plan on watching for at least the first Saturday. After that, it only makes sense to change the batteries in the remote. They may not need it, but it's better to have fresh ones for the entire season than to have then die in October. If you have grass, next week might be the best time to cut it. Be sure to inform your executive board of cave members of their duties. This is a group effort. Everyone must bring something to the table. Keep in mind, you can never have too much beer or ice to keep it cold. Also one commonly forgotten item... bug spray! Whether you're at the game or in your cave, bugs are everywhere! If a door opens, they will invite themselves to the party. Nip that s*** in the bud now! Treat any ant beds and give your cave a good once over with some raid. Just because you can't see them, doesn't mean they aren't there. And finally, be sure to stock up on napkins and tissues. You all will need to wipe the tears from your eyes when my Auburn Tigers snatch another National Championship and Jeremy Johnson captures the Heisman Trophy!!! #WDELast week was another interesting one the wide world of sports, particularly on the gridiron. You know what I'm talking about, The Punch Heard Round the World! A few days ago, Jets signal caller Geno Smith had his jaw broken by former Jets LB Ikemefuna Enemkpali (don't worry, I had never heard of him before this either). Now I've read reports stating that this was all over a $600 debt owed by Smith, and as a man, you must honor your debts, but it's $600! Enemkpali was scheduled to make $510k with the Jest. I'm not at all suggesting he let the debt just go ignored, but was there no other way to handle it that would NOT have resulting in you losing your job?? I think this is a case that needs to be brought before Man Court. Case #600JALL RISE! Today we have assembled to decide the facts of Man Cave Case #600J. You, the jury, are tasked with deciding whether or not the events of the above referenced incident violated Man Law. Either party can be found guilty or innocent. Mr. Enemkpali for punching his QB resulting in the loss of his job, or Mr. Smith for not paying a debt owed. Please consider only the facts presented over the past week when considering your decision. Leave your verdict in the comments. We will recess until next Monday. *Bangs Gavel*
Last night while watching a less than impressive performance from the Vikings and Steelers, I sat with a huge smile on my face while I ate wings and enjoyed a few beers. The game itself had little to do with it. There wasn't a lot of scoring going on (14-3, Vikings), it wasn't full of spectacular plays, hell, we didn't even get to see Adrian Peterson touch the field! However, none of that even mattered. The only great thing was the fact that FOOTBALL IS BACK! After what seemed like an abbreviated eternity, America's game has returned. Man caves all around the world will be filled with assorted adult beverages and most unhealthy of foods. This is the time of year that men dream about. Football season is a time honored tradition that cannot be matched. If nothing else, it's a reason to test out all your new grill accessories and talk s*** with you buddies. Remember this feeling. Cherish it. Live it! You'll need it to get through the next off season. As for now, be a fan. There is nothing like kicking back with good friends and enjoying the greatest game on turf...
