Time and time again, classics are rebooted and brought back to the light of day. When I first saw the preview for Jungle Book, I immediately got excited! Jungle Book is one of the oldest and most popular tales that I love from my childhood. This is the third version of the classic, but from the trailer it definitely seemed to be the most intense and action packed! The graphics were obviously my favorite part of the movie. It definitely did a good job of taking a nice, soft, childhood story and making it an action packed thriller. If there is anything that I can say was second to the graphics, then it would be the casting. The characters were ON POINT. If you remember the original, you'd understand what I'm saying. Baloo and Bagheera were almost identical. Baloo was careless, happy, and a goof ball just like the cartoon. King Louis was awesome! He had the same, blues/jazzy feel as in the cartoon. Baghera was a wise, careful, and serious character. But most of all, Sherekhan! Idris Elba was perfect! Sherekhan was just as sly and witty as in the cartoon. It was almost like he was a smooth, evil, yet genius criminal. Side note: am I the only one who agrees with his mindset? I mean, if you were him, how would you feel? Although the movie wasn't a musical (thank God), they did manage to capture two of the movie's biggest songs! "Bear necessities" and "I wanna be like you" kept the movie in somewhat of a jolly mood instead of too adult-like. There were a couple of scenes that I paid attention to that were very similar and ironic references to the original. The first was when the Wolves were having a meeting about what to do with Mogli. In the cartoon, Baghera was sitting in a tree during the meeting, and he was doing the same in the movie! The elephants origin in the reboot was a little different, but it was creative. The use of fire was pretty cool, I caught that hint that it would have the same ending about midway through the movie. My only negative about the movie was the Vultures! They were shown for a quick second early in the movie, but why didn't they have a couple of scenes? They were a key to Sherekhan's defeat in the cartoon, they could've at least had 5 minutes to bring some humor to the movie. But, overall I was pleased, I give it an 8/10! This might have been the saddest and suspense-filled finale of them all! Like, WHO?? Who is dead?? I must know!! This ending was more dramatic than a dragon ball z episode when that guy witht he deep voice comes in...
"WILL GOKU FINALLY UNLOCK SUPER SAIYAN??? WILL THE Z FIGHTERS FINALLY WIN A BATTLE??? OR DOES FRIEZA HAVE ANOTHER TRICK UP HIS SLEVE?? FIND OUT ON THE NEXT EPISODE OFFFFF... THE WALKING DEAD!!" Look, all I know is this, is Rick dies. I riot. If Daryl dies. I riot. If Carol gets shot again. I riot! I can kinda see into the future... Rick and the gang will turn into slaves/workers for Kegan, somehow Carol and Morgan come in and start chopping everyone off one by one. Boom! Everyone is free. Maybe it's a stretch, but I'd love for it to be true. The real question of the day, who do you think is dead?? First thing is, I know who it's NOT, and that's Karl or Rick. Notice when Negan said, "if anyone moves, anyone screams, cut out the boys eye" (something like that). I also don't think it's Michonne, you can't kill off Rick's new lover already! She's only been getting the D for about 4 episodes. I've got my money on Abraham or Glenn. I hope it's Glenn. Although I was actually sad that he fake died last season, I'd rather him go than anyone else. So, who do you think died? Leave your comment below!!! Man o' man. Best superhero television show since DBZ! Best good guy rivalry since Vegeta and Goku!
Ok maybe a bit of a stretch, but that's just how much I love this show. Marvel bringing in the Punisher was the best idea ever. Jon Bernthal was perfect, he brought a dimension to the show that we were missing from Daredevil. Am I the only one that began to hate Daredevil and love Punisher more as the show continued? It's like, Daredevil was the "good good" guy, and Punisher was the "bad good guy". But it was perfect! He brought a rough, street style of crime fighting that we all love. His heart was good, tainted-but good. His methods were untraditional but who doesn't love to watch s*** get blown up and people's stabbed and shot in the face! I'd like to start a petition that Punisher gets his own show! Comment below if you agree! As every normal human being would know, one of the biggest superhero movies just hit the movies this weekend. I'm a true DC fan, so I'll try my best to not give a biased review. I've been excited about this movie for about two years, Batman is my favorite superhero of all time and I just respect DC more since their heroes aren't insanely overpowered. But, below I'm going to give my opinions. The good, the bad, and the better! cons:Firstly, I thought the plot was rushed. But, as I told a friend of mine, the ONLY way that they could've covered the plot thoroughly was to make multiple movies. Although I love going to the movies to see my favorite superheroes to save the day year after year, I am NOT trying to have this series dragged out until 2030 (don't even think Ben Affleck has the much juice left). This movie wasn't "action filled"-but, it had enough to make me feel better when i left. A lot of people have been comparing it to Marvel. But, me personally, I don't think they should be compared. DC's aim was not to imitate or outdo marvel, they went about carrying out the master piece with a whole different method and plan and succeeded in my book. I'm getting off topic, this is supposed to be cons, so let's get to the pros! pros:I'll keep this as close to a non-spoiler review as much as I can. But, DC-you're a genius! The plot layout has been set perfectly! The refernces throughout the movie had my mind wondering so much that I'm already looking forward to the next films. This was Easter Egg heaven! The common "movie goer" probably was lost. I totally understand how someone who only watches superhero movies who has 0 cares for the story lines or comic references prefers a Marvel movie. But hey, everyone can't be geek squad! ben affleckSome of you guys are going to come at my neck about this statement, but... BEN AFFLECK GAVE CHRISTIAN BALE A RUN FOR HIS MONEY!!!!!!!! He did it without his own movie, and hell-without a damn villain until the end of the movie. Let's be real, no one became a Christian Bale fan until Dark Knight. The Villains in the dark knight series honestly are what attracted most of the fans. Not saying Christian wasn't great, but Ben was perfect. He was angry, an asshole, smooth.,. and HE KICKED ASS! Like, video game style. Well done Ben, way to make non-believers into believers (myself included). lex & wwThere were probably more haters for the cast of wonder woman than for bruce wayne origianblly. But, she delivered as well! Not as rough and tough as the comic and cartoon version, but her sex appeal won me over. Lex was cool, a bit too goofy for me. But he got more serious as the show continued. He gets a B- from me. supermanSuperman was Super, not too many complaints. I liked his performance, I'm one of the only people who liked Man of Steel so my opinion might not be to credible here so I'll keep his review short.
"It's the most wonderful time of the yearrrr"-well second to football that is! But the Crawfish are in season! These wonderful seafood treat are in season and ready to be devoured. These are by far my favorite crustacea and one of my favorite foods in the seafood world. Being from Mobile, AL, there is a LOT of tradition and fun behind the season. There aren't too many foods that make families get excited and gather together to enjoy. Sure, a cookout is great-but it doesn't compare to a good 'ole Crawfish Boil! Being from the Gulf, there are tons of people who always ask me several questions about the tasty crustacea. Well, today is everyone's lucky day. Below I have several tip on when to buy, what price to look for, and also an instructional video on how to eat them, enjoy! 1. when???Crawfish season officially begins in the Early weeks of March. That is usually when the weather begins to warm up during the south. Crawfish need warm water to breed, look at it like humans. What is the first thing men do when it gets warm? Go to the beach and find some tail! Same concept, so the warmer the winter, the more active the Crustacea, the better the season! Now I'm going to have to contradict myself on this current statement, and I'll explain it a bit later. ALTHOUGH CRAWFISH SEASON BEGINS IN MARCH, I ADVISE TO NOT ACTUALLY BEGIN BUYING UNTIL APRIL OR MAY!!! June is always a good month as well, but as July comes-so do the smaller ones. Most suppliers actually end their shipments, and the ones who continue actually increase their price. 2. PRICINGSo, it's March 20th, and the average price around town is about $3.40-$3.60. THAT IS NOT CHEAP! The best thing to do is to wait and check prices in April, May is guaranteed the cheapest and best time to buy. When the time is right, you can find crawfish for $2.30-$2.60 cooked, and $1.99-$2.30 alive. Think about it, it's simply supply and demand. When the season is early, demand is high-so the price is as well. As soon as a month passes, boom! .30 cents down. I literally check crawfish prices like stock! They've gone down .20 in a week, it's almost that time for a boil! What is there in this world better to spend $20 on than a couple of pounds of crawfish, ears of corn, sausage, and potatoes?! Don't worry... I'll wait.......................................................................... Still waiting...................................... Didn't think so! 3. how sway?!Time and time again.. year after year, people tell me, "THEY TAKE TOO LONG", or "IT'S TOO HARD". Look, there's two reasons why people say these things: 1. You're lazy 2. You're ignorant on proper crawfish peeling technique. But, what would the MancaveHQ be if we didn't drop some knowledge? Peep the video below. Hope you enjoyed the post, have a good crawfish season! It is NEVER too early to begin prepping for Valentine's Day! Women love a man to cook, so where else to look for as good recipe than the ManCave? Today I bring to you Cranberry-Pecan Crusted Salmon. This tasty dish is the bomb dot com and is not that hard to make! ingredients:2 Salmon Steaks Seasoning Salt Lemon Pepper Soy Sauce Cranberry Sauce Panko Bread Pecans Spinach Butter/Olive Oil instructions:(preheat over at 350 degrees)
1. Season the Salmon, there are TONS of ways to season it. But I keep it simple with seasoning salt, lemon pepper, and soy sauce. 2. Prepare the crust. Crumble pecans into a bowl with the Panko Bread Crumbs. Melt butter and pour it over and make sure enough butter touches ALL of the bread crumbs or it won't harden. Mix in a bowl. 3. Take the cranberry sauce and spread it over the salmon. Add the Pecan and Panko bread crumb mix on top. Throw it in the over for 15 minutes and you're good! If you want to make it look fancy and appealing to the eye, throw some spinach under it on the plate! Women love when they feel like you've put thought into something sweet!. Fellas, it's that time again! Sigh, I know. Every woman on Earth has a "list" of annoying New Year resolutions that 8/10 she will not live up to. I must say this gets old year after year. I'd much rather you admit you aren't changing than give a speech about how you plan on "making moves" in the next year, and none of them happen. But, without further delay, I've listed my tops below! Comment anymore if you think I missed any. I'm going to get in shapeThe Mancave firstly would like to shout out the 14% of women who actually live up to this resolution, yal are-if the MVP's! But to the others, just stop. Just stop. We know you aren't going to get in shape. We know you're going to workout for two weeks, then wait to march and say "I'm going to workout and get ready for Spring break". We know the routine, so fellas-if you know a woman who falls into the category, tell her stop with the BS. If she makes it to June without stopping, but her some flowers, she deserves it! no social mediaI know that this is listed as #2, but this one by far makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE!!! The hell does getting off of social media have to do with having a better life? Maybe you're just an addict with no discipline who can't stay off of a cell phone every two seconds. What really kills me is when say "I NEED TO FIND MYSELF".... Disclaimer: the mancavehq will NEVER disrespect women... But B**** how in the hell do you find yourself? You can play hide and go seek with yourself? How do you not know yourself? Yal going on a date? #MeMyselfandI face ass! But anywho, fellas... If this applies to someone that you know just tell her the truth. The world does not stop when you decide to stop posting pictures, nor does anyone care when you make your dramatic reappearance in 3 weeks. In NO WAY does the ManCave say don't make yourself a better person. But fellas we have to stop supporting the BS. Be accountable! The fall leaves are beginning to whither away more and more... The wind is picking up and rains are decreasing... The Christmas lights are going up and I find myself doubling up on my socks to go to work... You know what that means?? IT'S S'MORES SEASON!! That's right, the best snack of all snacks. The "King of Snacks", "The Sultan of Swat", "The Colossus of Clout". If you don't know that reference. Go dodge traffic! Ok-don't do that, just google it please. But back to the topic, so I opened up the season this weekend at a friend's house and made some delicious S'mores. As I was making them, I decided that it might be a good idea to go ahead and drop some bars of knowledge on proper S'more etiquette. Enjoy! ingredients prepChocolate. Marshmallows. Graham Crackers. Skewers/sticks. Fire. THAT'S IT! Obviously a beer is clutch to wash it down, and if you want to get fancy then get Cinnamon Graham Crackers or Cookies n Cream Chocolate. Make sure you have enough for everyone. ALWAYS prep your graham before you place the marshmallow over the flame. S'mores for dummies: Prep = placing the chocolate on the graham take your timeTake your time! You have to actually cook the inside of the mallow! To do this, you simply place it OVER the flame. Not in the flame, over the flame. This allows you to not put a fluffy, uncooked mallow on your graham. After you have done this for 2-4 minutes, place it in the flame and roast the outside! Pull it out, count to 3 and blow it out! if it ain't black, put it backHave you ever seen a red elephant???? ME NEITHER! Black S'mores only! Don't worry, it's not burned, it's roasted and cooked. Only the firey taste of a fresh mallow out of the fire is how you truly enjoy the S'more sensation. Now, enjoy one of my favorite scenes from one of the Man Cave's top Movies for men, EVER!!! First I'd like to take a moment for those in Paris who lost family members this weekend...
Secondly, I'd like to take a moment for those who are participating in #NoShaveNovember but can't get a beard! This post is dedicated to the people like me, you can't grow a beard for S***!!!! You may not be sure why, but it just won't grow. The man gene within in forces me to participate in #NoShaveNovember, but even with a two week head start, still no beard. I'm 24 and this is an ego killer! This damn patch is not getting me anywhere in the race for a full beard. So to everyone who is struggling, I FEEL YOU! All I wanted in 2015 was to have the bald head-full beard look like Common-is that too much to ask Beard Gods? If you are going through this struggle, feel free to drop your story below! |
