To say that the first weekend of college football was exciting would be an extreme understatement! We saw blowouts, upsets, and redemption all in the span of a few days. Now the weekend has ended... Or has it? Today is Labor Day and aside from not having to got to work (some of us at least), we get one more football game! The defending and first ever college football playoff champions have a chance to avenge their one and only loss of last season. This year, the Buckeyes go into Blacksburg to face the Virginia Tech team that beat them 35-21. Aside from being the only game on TV, this game is definitely a must watch.
For starters, who will be the signal caller for the Bukeyes? We saw Cardale Jones terrorize college defenses the last part of their championship season, but let's not forget that J. T. Barrett is no slouch himself. Which one will start the game under center?
With the absence of Bosa for Ohio State, you would think that Virginia Tech would be able to hold the pocket long enough to give QB Michael Brewer enough time to work. Last season the O-Line wasn't all that great at protecting the quarterback, but with the Buckeyes having questions themselves, it should be pretty evenly matched.
We could go on and on with analysis and stats and predictions, but at the end of the day, only what's done on the field matters. Watch the game tonight at 9pm EST on ESPN to see who handles business on the gridiron. If you think you know how this will go, let us know. I'm predicting the Buckeyes take care of business. The Hokies owe them and they're coming to collect!
