If you're any form of a baseball fan, or simply have watched ESPN over the past month of February, you're aware of the comeback of arguably one of the best to pick up the stick in the current era. That's right, Alex Rodriguez is back in the Bronx!! After serving a full regular season and postseason of suspension for illegal usage of performance enhancing drugs, Alex has regretfully apologized to fans, the organization, and the National Baseball League as a whole. "Alex initiated the meeting and apologized to the organization to the organization for his actions over the past several years... as far as the Yankees are concerned, the next step is playing baseball in Spring Training", as stated by the Yankees reporters on February 11th. With Jeter not returning for the 2015-2016 season, the Yankees are in need of leadership from a guy who has been there before, who better than A-Rod? "Alex, at heart, is a teacher", said Giardi. After not making the playoffs in the 2014 Season, the team is looking forward to having Alex's impact on and off the field this year to lead them to a better season. The Yankees recently signed Chase Headley to play Third Base, so A-Rod will most likely be the designated hitter and see limited time on the field, possibly at First Base. With a .291 Career Batting Average and .299 Yankees Batting Average, simply putting a bat in his hands wouldn't be a bad idea. Either way, welcome back! The Cave wishes the best of luck to Alex Rodriguez and The Yankees, may the MLB 2015 Season be one to remember!
