As we all know, to drive your car there needs to be tires, but how do you know when your tires are bad and need replacing? We will give you 3 quick ways to tell.
1. Do your tires have less than 1/16 of an inch tread? If so replace them, that measurement can be determined by taking a penny and inserting it head down into the tread, if Lincoln’s entire head is still visible you don’t have enough.
2. Now days, newer tires have a tread indicator bar, when the tires are new the indicator bar is invisible but as the tire wears they become visible. When multiple indicators are starting to appear on a tire, it is time to change it.
3. There is one more quick way and that is cracks in the sidewall of your tire, but this could be one of the more dangerous indicators. If there are visible cracks in the sidewall of the tire, there may be leaks or you could be becoming close to having a blowout. Both terrible options!
You now have three quick ways to determine if your tires are bad and need replacing. If you fail 1 or more of the above requirements it is best to pay the expense of new tires and avoid a possible accident.
